Cherry Blossoms Make Me Cheery!

I love cherry blossoms.  They make me smile.  When the blossoms first begin to unfold, I want everyone that I hold dear to come and enjoy them with me.  On the morning of these pictures, the sun was shining brightly and the petals were blowing in the wind creating their own little flower shower.  I grabbed my coffee, my dog, and my phone and rushed outside to call my mom.  I tried to talk her into driving the 21 hours to come and see me that very week.  "Hurry, before the blossoms are all gone!"  I almost talked her into it...I think.  Not!  I can't say that I blame her. It is a VERY long trip to only stay a couple of days.

Here are a bunch of lousy pictures from my phone, but I think you can get the idea.

I was in awe of how the blossoms blanketed the ground beneath my maple tree.

One of two trees that made this beautiful mess!

My arbor that leads to nowhere.

Notice the coffee cup on the bench.  Plainoldkristi drinks coffee with the chickens...I have to settle for the woodpile....sigh.  I wish I had chickens.  Will someone come and build me a coop?

Another picture that looks pretty much like all of the others.

Oh....and another.

The cherry blossoms are gone now.  They only last a couple of weeks.  Doesn't it seem like you have to wait a long time for the most beautiful things in life, and then it only last for a short time?

Your cherry trees are beautiful. I didn't realize that you had cherry trees in your yard. I sure wish they grew down here. Watch my blog...I going to post some old pictures of MD when you, me, Rayne, and Avery went to see the blossoms in DC.
