WARNING: Graphic...Not for the Weak at Heart

Today we went to Sean's first doctor's visit since the surgery one week ago. This gave me a little better understanding of what he is dealing with...wow! I have to admit...my tummy got a little weak.

What you are seeing is the top of his leg from the knee down. The doctor made two long incisions from the knee to a little past midcalf.

This is a side view of the leg. Look closely and you will see a small incision at midcalf, and another small incision by his ankle.

So...the leg is a little swollen, but the doctor said it looked great! Can you believe this constitutes as great? :) I asked the doctor the number one question that we get daily..."How do you rebreak a leg?" This is what he said:

They made small holes using a drill in somewhat of a semi circle on his bone. Next they took a saw and basically "connected the dots" (or holes). The area in which the bone had closed over due to the original injury was opened up using a drill. Next they literally hammered a rod through the bone of his leg. I'd say that leg is pretty solid now!

Here is dear Pastor Sean trying to grit his teeth through the uncomfortableness of what he just went through. I'll try not post such disturbing pictures next time.

Oh you KNOW you are getting a comment from me! Haha! That is just way too awesome! The only thing disturbing me is that I can't reach through the screen and pop out a few of those staples. LOL! Peter hasn't had stitches in foreverrrrr and I really miss taking them out! Staples are even better! He has ***4*** incisions?! Fabulous. Maybe I need to go back to work after all. I think you should snag a staple remover gun from the office on his next visit and let me take them out when its time. Mwahahaha! (I know what you're thinking "Oh my...I can't wait til those weirdo Lufkins are out of here!" lol!) ;)

YIKES! I'm sure it's worse for Sean to see than for us. But, this is really helping my prayer life. God please help him and Monique endure this trial! Let it heal fast, Lord!
