My Most Recent Project

Eighteen years ago my husband broke his leg (the tibia) water skiing. After patiently waiting for his tibia to mend but to no avail, the doctors decided to cut out a piece of bone from the fibula. This shortened his leg a quarter of an inch knocking the rest of his body out of alignment. The bone did eventually mend, but after all these years it has caused strain on his ankle, knee, hips and lower back. Strangely, the bone has also continued to bow into somewhat of a banana shape.

With all of these things taken into consideration and the future possibility of hip and knee replacement, he decided to have his leg rebroken and a rod inserted. This involved cutting, drilling, bone grafts...can I make it sound any worse...probably! :-) Anyway...you get the picture. The hopes for this surgery is that his leg will be straightened, he will regain the quarter of an inch he lost, resulting in the rest of his body coming into alignment thus alleviating his stress and pain.

Here he is just before heading back for surgery. Ooops...this was in the recovery room right after the surgery. Sorry for misinforming.

Here he is after surgery. It was supposed to be an "in and out" same day surgery, but instead ended up in a 2 night stay.

This is Pastor Sean with a coveted mermaid card (birthday no less) from Julianna with a skillfully painted picture of him in a wheelchair. Great work Julianna!I thought this bell would be a good idea...so did he. Now I am not so sure. He loves it!

Sleeping peacefully. This is his first time up in a chair since he has been home.

The reason I can't make it without my husband....................coffee. He makes my coffee daily. My first attempt to make it while he was in the hospital ended up with three packets of splenda mixed in with the grounds. Duh! I know this is not how it is done, but I was just too tired...or distracted...pitiful...or something.

Praying for a quick recovery for Pastor Sean. Sounds awful :( You were a brave woman to give him a bell (LOL!).

OMW I am dying over the coffee pic. Hahaha! Too awesome. You need a little bedside table on wheels so you can put the coffeepot on it, wheel it on over and tell him to make himself useful. LOL!

We're also praying for a quick recovery. I love the mountain man look he's sporting! Haha!

Poor Pastor Sean! He looks miserable, but is hopefully feeling better each day. Praying for him...and you. Oh, and yeah, that bell might find a new home in the woods beside your house, though. Of course, your luck that pesky black snake would come dragging it back!

Everyday he looks a tiny bit better..... I'm sure it is due to all the TLC Monique is giving him.
