What to do When Having a Crazy Day Homeschooling

So...one day back in the fall we were having the most awful day of homeschooling.  Rayne and Mar constantly teasing each other...falling out on the floor in hysterical laughter...acting silly during lessons...attention span of a toddler.  ARGH!!!!  What's a mom to do!

I looked at my children.  Both were wearing mismatched clothes...hair askew having not seen a brush since the previous morning...looking like...well...you know... that stereotype that homeschoolers get...the "why fix our hair and dress decent...nobody's gonna see us" look.  (I hope I didn't offend any of you homeschoolers...ha!)

"That's it!" I yelled as I wielded my wooden spoon (Kidding about the wooden spoon.  Those days are over...I use yard sticks now.  ha!)  "Both of you!  Get upstairs and dress as though you were going to church!  I want you fixed up from head to toe!"

They stood with their eyes wide...not sure if I really meant it.  Martin said, "In a suit?"

"Yes, just as though you were going to church!  Go...now!" I snarled.  (Well,  I don't think I really snarled, but it does make for a better mental image in this story.)

My little darlings both hurridly made their way to their rooms and within a few minutes they came down in their Sunday's best.  They looked so sweet and precious...we had to run outside to grab a few photos.

Lesson to be learned...One's appearance plays a huge role in how one may act or think.  The rest of our day was simply lovely.  They acted lovely and were lovely to behold.

Awww! I might have to try that sometime! We had two AWFUL days this week but we went all military family and I made them (by them I mean the younger one...not naming names...haha!) do cardio drills between subjects. Mwahaha! He enjoyed them (grr) but it still did the trick. Man I hate it when they act all silly and can't pull it together and get work done. Drives me BATTY!!!
